Penny Black Saturday #132 ~ A Recipe...

A recipe challenge today from Penny Black Saturday...

~ 3 papers, 1 ribbon & 1 charm ~

I decided to use a Penny Black image called 'Gift of Flowers',  it was great to colour using fresh spring shades of promarkers whilst it was snowing outside!!

The papers are all Basic Grey Sultry from a cardmaking kit, love the colours and pattern.

The prize this week is from the lovely Carol...

and it's this fabulous hedgie stamp :)

This is our last challenge of the year and we will be back raring to go after a couple of weeks off....with a brand new challenge on the 8th January :)

Jolly Santa...

A favourite Santa image today :)

I love this jolly Santa from Sugar Nellie and I'd not used him this year for my Christmas cards (too busy using my newer stamps!) so he had to come out for at least one card!!

I have coloured the image with promarkers with a little shading done with prismas and the papers are a mix of Bo Bunny and DCWV.....

Sugar Nellie 'Simply Sassy ' Competition...Round 2!!

I am thrilled!! to have got through to 'Round Two' of the fabulous

Sugar Nellie 'Simply Sassy' competition.... and for this round the challenge is...

'Do your Thing'

Show your style and what you are most comfortable with :)

Well I'm a 'clean & simple' cardmaker :) I love to create cards with classic layouts focusing on the image....I LOVE  to colour my images to co-ordinate with all the gorgeous papers out there :) and as a crafty friend pointed out I usually keep the embellishments to a minimum...adding just a few gems or buttons to finish.

So that's my style :) and here is the card I created...

I created this icy blue 'Winter' Sassy girl card using a favourite layout of mine and then up popped an idea!!! and I decided to make a card for all 4 seasons....colouring each Sassy girl to coordinate with the papers I chose.

I  have kept the layout the same for all the cards just altering the embossed pattern for each background!

I love how different you can make the girls look just by changing the hair/eye colour!!

'Simply Sassy' competition!! I cant quite believe it!!

These are the 2 cards I made for Round 1....

I now have to make a card which shows my style - 'Do your Thing' for the next round, so I have lots of ideas buzzing around my head right now!! I have to enter my card by this weekend so I will be sharing soon :)

I am totally thrilled to have got through and have everything crossed for the next round  :)

Non Traditional Christmas...

A last minute Christmas card today!

 Still just a few more to make but nearly there :)

Simply Sassy Competition....

Another entry for the fabulous Sugar Nellie 'Simply Sassy' competition....

I am enjoying making these 'WOW' ~ White on White cards, it's a nice change to Christmas cards :)

I have kept this one 'Clean & Simple' adding just a couple of embellishments and focused on the colouring and shading. I like 'wow' cards as you can choose any colours you like and not worry about matching up papers etc!!

I used bright colours for my last card so I have gone for darker colours this time using my promarkers and prismas again :)

I dont know what's in store for the next round! or if I will make it through....I will be asking for all your help if I do please :)...I will let you know!!

Something different today for the new challenge from Just Cute Bears & Friends....

'Anything but a Card!'

I have made a little treat box with a cute FF bear for the main panel :)

I am going to fill it up with some sachets of hot choc & sweeties as a gift for a friend...

The main box is made from a sheet of Bo Bunny Christmas paper, I followed the instructions over at SplitCoastStampers {HERE}....if you would like to make one too :)

This will be our last challenge of 2010...as we know things get busy this time of year!

So you have till the 1st of January to make your creation and enter :)

I have used Penny Black's Starlit stamp for my card - stamped onto lilac card to co-ordinate with the Rose-Tinted Christmas papers from DCWV.

I like lilac/pinks for Christmas cards although I'm very traditional with my red/green/gold for my Christmas tree, which we are hopefully putting up this w/e :)

It feels like Christmas with all this snow in the UK!!

White on White = WOW

No colour except on the stamped image with focus on your colouring & shading.

So here is my entry :)

I love 'WOW' cards! and decided on warm colours for my image....it's all white outside (snow!!) and cosy indoors, so I guess the weather inspired me!! And I thought the colours would stand out well :)

I have coloured the Simply Sassy girl with promarkers and added some shading with my prismas. I scored lines with my scoreboard and embossed with my cuttlebug folders and added lots of sparkle round the layers for more definition :)
